Support Our Playround

One of our first initiatives is to create an environmentally responsible, safe, and inviting playground for children of all ages to enjoy.

We secured land from the Sixth Taxing District to double the current footprint, create areas for multiple are groups, and an open green space for collaborative programming.
We look to support social interactions of all ages and integrate accessibility through the incorporation of varied sensory experiences and equitable ground level and elevated play structures.
We aim to embrace natural materials and leverage our beautiful site. We are going to maintain all existing trees and plant more.

a Valuable town amenity

Bayley Beach exists due to a private land transfer to the 6th Taxing District (6TD) and as a result is not funded by the City of Norwalk. The 6TD provides funding for maintenance and upkeep, but cannot take on the full amount for capital improvements. Community members must come together to help facilitate updates to this valuable town amenity utilized by all ages.

The current playground was built in 2006 and added onto in 2016. It has reached the end of its anticipated lifespan. The playground was inspected in the Fall of 2022, some updates were made to temporarily make the playground safer. However, all the structures are in need of replacement.
